As part of this evolution, the Technology function is recruiting this role to be responsible for implementing a Programme Management System. Through the System, the role will be responsible for embedding a Project Management mindset across all aspects of Technology development. This will include rolling out tools and training to capture snapshots of Technology spend on a Project- and Programme-basis, contributing to regular business Playbook reviews to ensure investment is aligned with multi-year Strategic planning. The System will also provide an auditable, stage-gate process to enable New Product/Process Introduction (NPI). The System will be an important enabler of more efficient Technology development and collaboration, contributing to the de-risking of customised product development across scales and achieving our mission of delighting Customers. Finally, the System will enable the quantification of our strategic Venturing activities, which will contribute to tracking of investment KPIs.The role holder will need to work within the framework of JM's NPI stage-gate process, with a down-selected Programme Management tool. However, the granular details of underlying processes, software add-ons and interfaces, structure of organisational resource to support, and related training and communications are all open for the role holder to shape based on requirements and previous experience. We are open to an innovative approach, with the aspiration that the result will take the Technology organisation to a whole new level.Key responsibilitiesAccountable for the development of a Technology Programme Management System for BM, encompassing: (1) Playbook tracking R&D spend on a Workstream/Project/Programme basis and rolled-out with best-in-class Project Management fundamentals, including resource and benefit tracking as input to strategic planning and day-2-day efficient operation of the business (2) stage-gate NPI process, working with Quality to ensure compliance to automotive requirements, (3) innovation metric tracking, including KPIs associated with Venturing, (4) consideration of business-specific interfaces relating to linked stage-gate processes, (5) GUIs, Dashboards, and data outputs that meet business requirementsAccountable for developing the Roadmap to successful embedding of the System, including customisation of Group-led Programme Management tools, plan for training and communications, and plan to ensure robust data as a single source of truth for decision-making (spanning Finance and Commercial). Roadmap to be supported by an Organisational structure aligned with budgeted headcount and a clear RACIRecruitment and leadership of the team to execute the Roadmap; incorporating user/business feedbackLeadership of the team to govern the embedded System in line with defined processes, monitoring Projects (deployment versus plan), providing agreed updates and escalating issues as necessaryRepresent BM on the JM NPI implementation project team, ensuring compliance to Group standardsAre you the ideal candidate?You will be/have:Advanced degree in a STEM subject; or equivalent experience. Project and Programme Management Certifications desirable; Quality-related Certifications in a regulated industry advantageousDemonstrable experience in developing, implementing and leading a Programme Management System, preferably in a high-growth Technology business operating on a product customisation basis. Experience with leading edge software-based solutions desirable.
