We currently have a vacancy fora Engineering Manager (Electrical) - Power at our site in Barrow.Asan Engineering Manager (Electrical) - Power, responsibility for leadership ofthe Electrical Power SIT, and is a member of the electrical managementteam. The role encompasses themanagement of the Electrical Power elements of the BAE Systems EngineeringThisrole will provide you with the opportunity to influence the program is on trackand being delivered to schedule, and as such is will provide you with exposureacross the business.Your mainresponsibilities as a Engineering Manager (Electrical) - Power willinvolve: Deliverthe Functional design of Dreadnought Electrical Power Team - namely 440V, MainDC, Hull Penetrators, Containment Penetrators and all Minor DistributionSystems; ensuring that the ElectricalPower Team scope adheres to Safety, Legislation, Environment, and other (Transversal)needs (inclusive of, shock, EMC, signatures, Configuration Management, HumanFactors, Operability, etc).Assessthe programme requirements and facilitate the development and provision of therequired capability resource to meet the programme demands.Developand maintain metrics to ensure reporting of supplier deliverables, PartMaturity, Functional Maturity, Enterprise Change Requests status/performance toplans at programme and project level meetings.Interpretationof metrics and related data to support the programme to deliver to quality,cost and schedule.Provideinput as appropriate to System Peer Reviews, Major system Reviews and Wholeboat Design Reviews.Ensureall relevant LfE is fed back into the submarine programme across allEngineering disciplines and across relevant functions (inc Supply Chain,Quality department, etc.)Assessprogramme and technical risks to the delivery of the agreed Electrical PowerTeam scope and propose mitigation activities and fall-back opportunities to theclientSupportMUFC in terms of LfE for future test facilities as required Your skills andqualifications:Excellentknowledge of submarine electrical power systems design and operation.Familiarwith Life Cycle Management, Engineering and Product Safety policy andprocesses.Knowledgeof integration of complex systems into platforms.BEng(Hons) / MSC (Eng) in a relevant Engineering disciplineDesirableKnowledgeof MOD system procurement and support, including organisation and standards. Chartered Engineer (CEng)Experienceof test and trials environment including setting to work complex equipment andoverall systemsWhat we're lookingfor in youYouwill be a proactive problem solver able to challenge existing norms whenappropriate and bring the team along with you.
