My client is a leading bespoke machinery manufacturer based near Lowestoft. They have a current opportunity for an Aftermarket Engineer to work directly with customers providing an efficient and professional service to meet their requirements relating to additional tooling, machine refurbishments, machine upgrades and rental agreements. A key expectation will be to grow the revenue of the Aftermarket department.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Undertake all relevant research to ascertain the feasibility of the proposed machine change

• Be prepared to travel to customer sites both in the UK and abroad

• Advise customers of non compliance issues

• Ensure the relevant regional sales manager is aware of each opportunity

• Prepare cost estimates and submit quotations as requested by internal or external customers

• Ensure all monthly sales targets are met or exceeded and that YTD performance to budget data is available to your line manager

• Assist with progress of quotations to order

• Initiate internal documentation to promptly action aftermarket orders

• Ensure aftermarket orders are progressed through the business and are shipped on the agreed dates

• Provide support to members of the aftersales team

• Project manage Aftermarket orders as requested

Competencies and skills

The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills at all levels, be customer focused, self-motivated and will show initiative and contribute ideas for continual departmental improvement

A previous engineering background is required along with working in a customer facing environment. Proven ability in labour and material costing is also required along with a time served apprenticeship and HND/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering/technical subject
