Our client, a global leading player within the engineering field is looking for a Finance Reporting Manager (Group Property) based in Derby on a 6 month contract.


My client are looking for a Finance Reporting Manager (Group Property) responsible for compiling and maintaining Group Property budgets. This post will require considerable experience in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial analytics.

Key Accountabilities:

Process management
  • Responsible for overall management of the budgeting process for Group Property working alongside the Group Property Finance Business Partner . Responsible for the global budgeting process through maintenance of the 'property cost tree' (A BI report allowing business visibility of property budgets to facility level) and internal cost reports.

Technical/Functional Knowledge
  • Responsible for development of variance reporting utilising Microsoft Power BI and other software tools
  • Develop and maintain tools evaluate portfolio performance and identify areas of focus
  • Implement cost control programs utilising benchmarks and KPIs and perform regression analysis to understand cost drivers and cost deviations
  • Develop and maintain internal and external benchmark programmes to monitor performance and assist business decisions
  • Ensure the budgeting process is suitably documented for audit and compliance purpose
  • Present Budget proposals and options to GBS and Group Property senior management
  • Act as technical expert in support of governance and performance programmes

Day to day Programme Analytical Support
  • Responsible for interpreting and analysing cost data and making recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Support analysis of sourcing strategies and operational efficiency programmes
  • Monitor financial performance of third party suppliers on separate accounting systems enabling micro level controls, analysis, and performance monitoring

Continuous Improvement
  • Work alongside the Property Information Team to develop automation of the budgeting process, including version management and exception reporting ยท
  • Develop new programmes and tools as needed by the real estate organisation
  • Responsible to identify actions and options to reduce cost through greater efficiency and utilisation of alternative sourcing options for services

Risk management
  • Implement and maintain controls and procedures to mitigate operational, continuity, and financial risk

  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in contracts and /or financial management
  • Highly developed communication & presentation skills
  • Database management experience
  • Experience of Excel and, ideally, Power BI
  • Candidates with financial qualifications and/or Property Contract experience would be preferred
