Chemistry/Physics Graduate - Cover Supervisor (Sudbury)

Are you considering a career as a Science Teacher?

Are you seeking school-experience for the next academic year to support future teacher training applications?

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking Secondary School in Sudbury who are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor with a specialism in Chemistry or Physics for September 2019. You will need to be a 2:1 or First-Class Chemistry/Physics Graduate who is considering a career as a Science Teacher. Graduates with a non-Science degree but A-Levels in Physics or Chemistry of C or above are also encouraged to apply.

>Chemistry/Physics specialist Cover Supervisor for Sudbury based Secondary School
>Chemistry/Physics graduate with a 2:1 or First-Class Honours required
>Graduates with an A-Level in Chemistry/Physics of C and above welcome to apply
>Previous experience working with 11-16 age range desirable
>Long-term and full-time post (From September 2019-July 2020)
>Opportunities to progress on to Teacher Training from September 2020
>£65-£70 per day

Joining the school on a full-time basis as a Science Cover Supervisor, you will thrive in the classroom as you immerse yourself into life as a Science teacher. The role as a Cover Supervisor will involve you delivering pre-planned lessons within Science with a focus on Chemistry or Physics depending on your subject knowledge. You will be required to deliver the lessons in an engaging and creative way to captivate and retain the attention of the students. You will also need a patient, positive outlook and be able to stay calm and composed in potentially challenging situations.

This Cover Supervisor role requires the successful graduate to be confident presenting engaging lesson content to full classes of students across KS3/KS4. Previous experience tutoring/mentoring is welcomed although support and coaching will be provided by the school.

During the periods where there is not the requirement for you to cover a class, you will get the chance to observe and shadow the more experienced Science teachers in the department. You will also be working with Science students on a 1:1 and small group intervention basis to accelerate their learning.

To apply for this role, you must have a 2:1 or First-Class Chemistry or Physics related degree, or have an A-Level of C or above in Chemistry/Physics. Graduates who have the ambitions to qualify as a Science teacher in the future are the ideal candidates for this role as there will be chances to progress on to teacher training.

Click 'apply' and send your CV to Matt Burgum at Edustaff. Please note - only successful Chemistry/Physics Graduates will be contacted for this Science Graduate Cover Supervisor role in Sudbury.
