This small inclusive Primary School based in Brentwood - Essex is looking to appoint a driven and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to develop and learn throughout the long-term role mastering the Teaching Assistant role and building the skills that will set you up for success with your future teacher training.

As Year 1 Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be tasked with supporting the class teacher and providing high levels of academic tuition to small groups of students of varying abilities both in and out of the class.

To be considered for this Year 1 Graduate Teaching Assistant role you will need an undergraduate degree at 2:1 or higher. School experience is not essential but some experience working with children will hold you in good stead.

The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Whole class support with a year 1 class, providing support for the class teacher, helping to plan and deliver lessons, and preparing the classroom and developing resources.

• Literacy and Numeracy intervention and booster sessions on a one to one basis and with small groups.

• Support the year 1 teacher in raising attainment and improving outcomes for all pupils.

• Support the schools needs with flexibility - including midday play supervision, extra curriculum activities, and supporting in other year groups across the school.
