About the area you'll be working in

From Finance and IT, to Marketing and People (HR) our support functions are the backbone of our UK operations. We may not deal directly with our customers, but we play an absolutely vital role in making sure that our customer-facing teams get all the support they need to deliver the very best service.

What you'll be doing

You will deliver projects by carrying out a range of activities throughout the project lifecycle, this includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members (including vendors, contractors and consultants) in order to deliver projects according to plan. You will work with key stakeholders. You will also define the project's objectives while overseeing quality and governance throughout its lifecycle.

What's a typical day?

You will define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. You will also plan and schedule project activities using appropriate tools and track project milestones and deliverables. You will determine the frequency and content of checkpoint reports from the project team, analyse results, and troubleshoot problem areas. You will also develop best practices and tools for project execution and management and ensure that detailed requirements are fully documented and agreed with the stakeholders. You will estimate the resources required to achieve project goals. You will draft and submit Business Cases, Capital Expenditure Requests and Project Initiation Documents as required. In addition to this you will need to ensure that local procurement policy is adhered to and ensure an effective and appropriate project governance structure is in place.

Who we're looking for?

Essential attributes
  • Robust and in depth experience in IT Project Management
  • Experience of working on large scale project
  • Project Management Qualification - e.g. PRINCE 2, Agile etc.
  • Significant experience managing multiple business-facing projects within an IT environment
  • Experience proposing technology-based solutions to business problems
  • Financial management skills with the ability to create and manage project budgets
  • Analytical skills capable of engaging and persuading at Project Board level and above
  • Ability to 'translate' between business and IT to ensure mutual understanding
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Leadership and influencing skills
