An OFSTED rated 'Outstanding' primary school are looking for an SEN teaching assistant with positive, high-energy approach to teaching who isn't afraid to take the reins and bring forth new ideas and plans. This school is based in Lambeth and has a need for a key stage 2 SEN TA who will join a thriving SEN care team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Providing high quality teaching assistance to children with special needs, tailoring said teaching to their specifications
  • Planning for the children you will be working 1:1 with
  • Safeguarding children at all times both inside the school and on excursions
  • Keeping the child focused and engaged in their learning
  • Building a strong relationship with the class teacher, fellow TAs and parents that allows you to communicate effectively with each other and the children
  • To support children across all areas of learning and progression while also allowing them independence
  • Maintaining order within classroom and keeping children's learning environment safe and calm for children with sensory sensitivities
  • Liaising with SENCO when required

  • Previous experience working within an SEN environment
  • Knowledge of KS2 curriculum
  • DBS which is on the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS application
  • Understanding of a variety of learning difficulties and the key aspects of following a care plan
