The role

We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic web developer who thinks of coding as more than just a job. You will play a role in developing a brand new addition to the Iress wealth management platform that is used by some of the biggest names in finance across the UK and APAC markets. We focus on innovation and continuous improvement, learning from each other and working as a team. The product you'll be working on uses a modern tech stack and has a forward-thinking team culture

What you will be doing
  • Work as part of a high achieving web application development team, where you will coach and mentor your peers
  • Able to influence the technologies and processes the team uses to deliver software
  • Use modern tools and new techniques to create leading products for the wealth management industry
  • Have a DevOps mentality, owning the products you build
  • Willing to embrace change and look for solutions to problems, taking ownership of work and pushing forward the success of the team
  • Contribute to the design, development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of the product
  • Regular 'Code-it' events, where the team are able to work on anything they want (individually or as a team), as long as it's for the benefit of the product

What you will need

Commercial experience of the following:
  • Developing web applications
  • Web patterns and practices as well as modern web development technology stacks. This must include a solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Quality assurance tooling, patterns and practice (automated or otherwise)
  • Agile frameworks

Preferable knowledge of the following:
  • React, Redux, RxJS
  • Mobile-first design principles
  • DevOps
  • AWS cloud hosting
  • Web Services/APIs
  • UX design approaches
  • Source control
  • Release management
