Job Description - Risk Manager (190003WY)Job Description Risk Manager 190003WYSummary of RoleThe Risk Manager will be supporting the Risk Director of the Investments business in providing the required Risk Oversight in line with prevailing regulations, best practice and internal policies. This is a new role and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be closely involved in developing the risk function of an Investments business with over $2trilliion of assets under advice and $120 billion of assets under management operating in 14 countries. The business is transforming from an advisory firm into an investments solutions business. The role offers the opportunity to continue to develop the risk management procedures in use by the business, to develop personally and to support the development of other members of the risk function and wider business.The main responsibilities will be to support the development and implementation of the Risk Management Framework in order to identify, measure, manage and monitor all relevant risks in the Investments business. Working as part of the Risk Management Team, the role will be engaging with colleagues at all levels across the Investments business including Product Manufacturing, Portfolio Management, Client Servicing and Operations. The role will work closely with the Group Enterprise Risk Management Team and Compliance Team to ensure all risks are being managed.The role will be located in the UK, with our London and Reigate offices as the preferred locations. There will be support for flexible working hours and telecommuting, contingent upon experience and engagement. Due to the global nature of the role, the Risk Manager role requires some flexibility regarding working hours and willingness to travel (usually for up to one week, quarterly).The RoleThe Risk Manager will be able to influence all aspects of our Risk Management Framework to meet the evolving needs of our business. Primary duties will specifically include:Execution of the Risk Management ProgrammeRisk Appetite: work with Investments leadership to define, implement and monitor the Risk Appetite.Risk Management Policy: document and regularly review the policies to manage risk.Risk Management Process: help to implement the Risk Management Policy through the Risk Management Process.Risk Registers: compile and maintain Risk Registers through regular Risk and Control Assessments for different geographies, service offerings and legal entities, and aggregate at different levels.Controls: carry out independent evaluations of the effectiveness of the control environment of the business to manage risks.Emerging Risks: support the process for the identification and management of emerging risks.Provision of Risk Advice and TrainingAdvice: provide advice, guidance and tools to the business to help manage risks in line with regulatory requirements, best practice and internal policies.Training: assist with preparation and delivery of relevant risk training.New Products/Projects: challenge and contribute to risk assessments of new products/service offerings, projects and other initiatives.Monitoring and ReportingRisk Profile: monitor the business Risk Profile against the Risk Appetite based on analysis of quantitative and qualitative reports.Risk Limits: monitor client and fund portfolios against Risk Limits.Issues Log: maintain the Issues Log and track action points and process changes to ensure timely and satisfactory completion.Regulatory reporting: co-ordinate the production and/or complete relevant risk reporting to the various regulators in different jurisdictions.Client portfolio reporting: monitor the risk being taken in client portfolios and ensure appropriate risk reporting is produced accurately and timely to management.Board/Committee reporting: help establish appropriate risk reporting mechanisms and co-ordinate the production of effective MI for various committees and Boards. The RequirementsAlready working in a risk management function and ideally with a relevant risk management professional qualification.Relevant investment solutions/asset management and (enterprise) risk management experience, and the ability to apply this experience to a complex global organisation with multiple legal entities domiciled in different jurisdictions under multiple regulators.Ability to influence, effectively communicate and engage with colleagues at all levels throughout the organisation.Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.Good planning and organisational skills and proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks to successfully meet deadlines.Equal Opportunity Employer Job: Consulting Primary Location: United Kingdom-England-London Other Locations: United Kingdom-England-Reigate Schedule: Full-time
