Brief overviewof the role:

Infrastructure Engineer (Networking) needed to join a Leading Secure IT Managed Service Organisation based in Shrivenham, Oxford. This is a great company to grow with and will offer many prospects for the future.


Routine duties include bu tare not limited to;
  • Research,development and presentation of ideas and technologies for improvement of existing and future deployments
  • Planning, development and testing of Change Requests with an understanding of business impact
  • Provide 3rd/4th Line Technical Support for incident and problem resolution both in and out of business hours
  • Develop technical routines and instructions for Support Teams
  • Delivering infrastructure solutions supportedby the production of solution high and low level design documentation
  • Project experience (leading and management)
  • Owning Technical relationships with Vendors
  • Subject Matter Expert to support presales

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Data Centre and campus network design/management with strong experience working with routers/firewalls, switches, LAN/WAN, loadbalancers (Cisco,Juniper,Fortinet)
  • Experience using dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF andvariousVPN/encryption technologies
  • 3-5Years'experience in the design/support of networks and associated infra-structure
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Icinga
  • Experience working with Virtualistion platforms(VMware/ Hyper-V)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Technologies such a sActive Directory, Network Services including DNS and DHCP and Network Policy Services
  • Strong Communication skills for both customers and senior management

Desirable Experience:
  • Aruba Wi-Fitechnologiesandsolutions
  • Use of PKI for network level authentication
  • Knowledge/awareness of HyperConverged Infrastructures and the Software Defined Data Centre
  • RedHat/Centos LINUX support and configuration
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server
  • 3-5 years' experience of Microsoft operating systems
  • Anti-virus technologies at enterprise level
  • Scripting
  • DR and business continuity management experience
  • Incident, change and access control management (ITIL)
  • Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM)
