Rocking Zebra Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Product Manager for this established charity with a royal charter.

Our client is responsible for raising the standards of IT Education, professionalism, ethics and practice.

Job purpose

Management of and responsibility for planning, leading, organising and motivating a product development team to achieve the development and deployment of products aligned with organisational objectives.

Ownership for the management of concurrent high visibility product development utilising agile methodology across multiple organisation divisions.

Provide a consultative and collaborative approach to ensure the appropriate people, process and tools are in place whilst coaching teams to optimise efficiency and achieve goals within designated governance constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • To plan and manage product development, scheduling the required activity to enable on-time and within budget delivery whilst managing risk and issues in a collaborativemanner;
  • Own and prepare progress reporting against plan applying a balance between agility and predictability to provide clarity against KPI's and an ability for relevant boards to make informeddecisions;
  • To develop and lead a high-performing team that are both accountable and driven through the provision of appropriate guidance, empowerment, structure and the management of blockers;
  • Work with Product Managers to provide the support and governance required to meet the demand and manageexpectations;
  • Blend project management principles and practices to fit mission-critical product development whilst defining and implementing a continuous improvement plan incorporating best practice both internally andexternally;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and third-party requirements in the product development process;
  • Apply appropriate assessment methodology that has impact and drivesresults;
  • Manage interdependency between internal and external departments to ensure timely development anddelivery;
  • Support, coach, mentor and manage your team to ensure fair, consistent approach of workloads and development to produce a highly effectiveteam;
  • Flexibility is required of all job holders to adjust responsibilities as required from time to time by their Line Manager/DivisionalDirector;

Skills & experience
  • Demonstrable experience and a track record of success to lead the development of product and ensure objectives, goals and commitments aremet
  • Demonstrable experience in using appropriate tools and product developmentmethodology
  • Demonstrable experience and track record of assessment methodology and applying bestpractice
  • Significant experience of working with IT professionals at a team and individuallevel
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully transitioning product development to business asusual
  • Significant experience of the training / software development life cycle as well as project managementskills
  • Significant experience of motivating and leading interdependent teams
  • Critical & creative thinking, problemsolving
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating and teambuilding
  • Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills wit an ability to manage competingdemands
  • Ability to build effective and strong interpersonal relationships - relates easily and effectively to colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills at all levels and a confident presenter
  • Financial accountability and management: ability to manage budgets against an agreed costmodel
  • Strong attention todetail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of ateam
  • Creative approach to problem solving with the ability to focus on detail while maintaining the "bigger picture"view
