Eden Scott's client is a not-for-profit organisation based in Edinburgh City Centre who are looking for someone to manage their year-end process, external audit and to bring strength to their financial reporting and controls environment. The organisation has a £15M income from both grant funding and also a commercial subsidiary which generates revenue in the hospitality and events space. In this role you will report to the Chief Executive, manage the finance team and have responsibility for other corporate services including IT, HR, Legal and other support and administration functions. We are looking for a senior leader with good commercial and strategic ability. The remit of the role is mostly around reporting and control but someone with commercial ability would be much appreciated. The main responsibilities would be; Report to the CEO and lead a variety of Corporate Functions including Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Estates and Business Administration. This will involve direct people management, delegation and leadership. Deliver the year-end statutory filings process and be the leader on the external audit function. You will report to the Board of Trustees on financial matters. Ensuring monthly management accounts and supporting analysis and commentary adds value to the business and driving awareness amongst non-finance leaders. Cost reporting, analysis, commercial support and strategic direction are all inherent within the role as is the need to deliver the budgeting process and ensure the business achieves strong targets. We are looking for a seasoned professional with following experience and qualifications; CCAB qualified accountant with several years post-qualifying experience with at least 5 years operating as a Director of Finance of Head of Finance as the number 1 for finance and accounting. Experience gained in Events, Hospitality, Arts, Cultural, Charitable or Public Sector is preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrably strong track record of people management, leadership and gravitas required to operate as a senior staff member facing off to a high-capability Board. Strong skills in Communication, Commercial Leadership and supporting wider business initiatives aimed at improvement and development. Experienced in using IT to a high-standard and with robust knowledge of financial modelling, scenario planning and delivering appraisal of business ventures.
