Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Salary £48,000 - £53,000 dependent on experience

Location: Rotherham

OVERVIEW:

An excellent opportunity for a multskilled maintenance engineering professional with managerial experience to progress into a leadership role with a forward-thinking company who are market leaders in the manufacturing industry.

THE ROLE:

A key leadership role, responsible for leading the site maintenance function, in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service. Responsible for all generation of planned maintenance schedules and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.

- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures and legislation and ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest Health & Safety Standard.

- Development and implementation of the existing asset care strategy to cover Manufacturing tooling and equipment and the buildings and facilities.

- Control maintenance spending and ensure adherence with operating budgets.

- Spares stores and workshop management including stock control, purchasing, spares availability and housekeeping.

- Management and control of contractors on site to ensure compliance with company safety and environmental policies.

- Assess downtime trends to identify areas of weakness and develop plans to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.

- Manage all Maintenance labour and resources; including performance appraisals, the identification & delivery of training requirements, skills development, absence, holiday cover and disciplinary issues etc. Communication of key information & site briefs.

- Provide coaching, mentoring and training to existing staff.

- Build and sustain a high-performance Maintenance team including the development of succession planning

- Contribute and assist in the development and management of the site CMMS system, in order to drive a high quality, low cost department utilising a KPI dashboard to track progress.

- Formulate short, medium and long-term capital plans for plant related assets to ensure financial budgets are aligned to end of life, new technology, legislative changes & cost reduction agendas.

- Identification of continuous improvement opportunities, in order to drive safety, efficiency, cost reduction and process improvements.

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will have:

- A degree or HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

- 10 years maintenance experience at managerial level, with a broad understanding of best-in-class maintenance tools and processes, delivering reliability improvements and cost savings in a manufacturing or engineering environment

- NEBOSH or IOSH would be desirable

- Working experience of time, condition and predictive based maintenance processes

- Commercially astute with proven experience of setting and managing budgets

- Proactive and insightful, with a forward-thinking approach to drive change and create solutions

- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills

- Sound working knowledge of MS Office and SAP
