About the School and the SEMH Teacher post:

Prospero Teaching are looking for a SEMH English Teacher, ideally with previous experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

• We are looking for an experienced English Teacher to cover a maternity cover.

• You will be working with students with a range of complex difficulties including SEMH.

• Our clients are Special Schools with specialist learning areas.

• This is a maternity cover to start in October 2019 and potentially go on until the end of the academic year.

• The successful candidate will be required to work with candidates across key stages 3 and 4.

Contract Details for the SEMH Teacher position:

• Location - Thurrock

• Position - SEMH English Teacher.

• Type of work - Teaching students with SEMH.

• Start date - ASAP

• Contract type - Temporary - Maternity cover

• Duration / Likely Duration - to start in October 2019 and likely to be until the end of the academic year

• Full time/part time - Full time Monday to Friday

• Minimum rate of pay - £130 per day

Experience, Training and Qualifications required for the SEMH Teacher position:

• Ideally you should hold QTS or QTLS, although candidates with relevant teaching experience may also be considered.

• You MUST be lively and engaging with the ability to think on your feet, especially if the students are not engaging in the planned activity.

• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.

• Effective behaviour management skills

• A positive attitude and desire towards working with SEN students.

• The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.

To be eligible for the SEMH Teacher post through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

• Provide two professional child related references
