We are seeking an inspirational Pre-school Manager to help to continue to

develop and establish a new Pre-school that opened in September 2018; This is an unique and exciting opportunity for experienced practitioners to work with the Head teacher of the adjoining primary school to to help create a safe, exciting, stimulating environment where children can learn through the joy of discovery.

The responsibilities for this role are as follows:

1. To manage the pre-school and undertake all the necessary duties on a day to day basis

2. To oversee the planning, delivery and monitoring of the group's EYFS curriculum in accordance

with the children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs.

3. To supervise staff on a daily basis and supervise volunteers and students on placements and

work experience in the setting.

4. To supervise the children and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations.

5. To be the lead person for safeguarding in the setting (Designated Safeguarding Lead).

6. To provide a high level of care that will enhance the children's general health and well-being.

7. To be the lead person for behaviour management in the setting.

8. To act as a key person to a small group of children and to ensure their needs are reflected in

the planning of routines and activities and to liaise regularly with parents/carers about their

children's needs, interests and progress

9. To be aware of children's special educational needs and ensure staff support these children


10. To keep informative, accurate and up-to-date records, including records of progress and any

behavioural or developmental reports.

11. To arrange and attend parents'/carers' meetings to allow two-way discussion of their children's


12. To carry out staff appraisal and supervisions and to contribute to and attend own supervisions

and appraisal.

13. To attend regular team meetings.

14. To liaise and work in partnership with other agencies, both statutory and voluntary, where


15. To attend any conferences, training events or meetings as identified by the Management

Committee and to keep up to date with current good practice.

16. To adhere to the pre-school's policies and code of practice on confidentiality.

17. To adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework Safeguarding and Welfare


This role would be suitable for experienced nursery practitioners (Level3) or for primary trained teachers (QTS or EYTS). For the right candidate, the school are prepared to consider term time only roles.

In order to apply for this role you must be a qualified primary trained teacher with experience in KS1 or EYFS and have a DBS on the update service or have the willingness to apply for a new one.
