A UPS Field Specialist is responsible for the preventative maintenance, minor and major repair, commissioning, hire installation, upgrades, scheduled and emergency services on Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) products serviced by Vertiv.
This is a field-based role offering considerable independence and you will be working within a regional structure although you will be required to work away from home and may be deployed internationally when required.
The CE is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate.
You will coach and train the newly hired Junior CE and support Sales Engineers in case of technical issues.

Qualifications ?
Required experience (one or more of the following)
o HNC/HND in an Electronics, Engineering o Six years military experience in an appropriate related field o Equivalent industry/commercial field service experience ?
Interpersonal Skills
o Professional o Reliable o Team Player ?
Familiarity with electrical / electronic test equipment and fundamentals ? Familiarity in reading electrical line diagrams and blueprints ?
Technical skills
o Ability to make basic site evaluation o Elementary fix/repair techniques based on directed supervision o Capable of completing electronic tasks and return unit to full operating conditions o Ability to summarize and report all work related tasks performed ?
Strong skill sets
o Communication skills o Customer service skills o Safety procedures o Organizational and planning skills o Computer skills ?
Electronic/Electrical aptitude
Responsibilities: ?
o Preventive maintenances on the mainstream Chloride and Vertiv UPS range I.E. Nets, Synthesis, Trinergy, EDP70's & 90's, Linear' s plus other units if necessary o Commission paralleled/complex systems o Coaching Junior CSE's o Carry out minor/major repairs o Perform a number of work related tasks including include Impedance testing, load/autonomy testing, power recording and none-com Life issues o Capable of working under direct supervision or independently based upon training ?
TECHNICAL
o Provide on-site and phone assistance to customerso Communicate with appropriate Technical Support personnel on equipment issues o Perform work related tasks according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance o First line investigation of breakdowns o Implement Field Change Notices (FCN) according to published guidelines o Keep current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips o Attend product training courses (in the UK and abroad) and work towards completion of all Vertiv Academy training courses. ?
SAFETY
o Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines o Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job duties o Report all work related accidents or injuries within correct timeframe to the appropriate personnel. ?
ADMINISTRATION
o Provide accurate and timely reporting according to company guidelines o Timesheets, expense reports, mileage reports, debriefing, service report sheets, etc. o Provide estimated time of arrival to the Customer on reactive works where applicable o Maintain company property according to company policies o Vehicle, PPE, test equipment, laptop, mobile phone, etc. o Present completed site security forms in a timely manner ?
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
o Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers o Provide estimated time of arrival to the customer where applicable o Complete scheduled maintenance documentation properly and provide to the customer and regional office upon completion of each designated task o Strive to provide all customers a "first time fix" for their equipment o Ensure that all situations where customer satisfaction is compromised, or contractual obligations are unlikely to be met are escalated appropriately o Attend Customer Meetings as required ?
PERFORMANCE
o Understand and comply with Vertiv's work instructions, quality policy and codes of conduct policies and regulatory requirements at all times o Complete all work in an efficient and timely manner o Capable of making technical and commercial decisions under pressure o Properly evaluate site and equipment for appropriate identified opportunities for equipment sales and passing leads to Sales Department o Maintain productive utilization rate according to company guidelineso Promoting contract sales and instructing site staff on proper care and operation when required o Maintain good communications and team working with all Managers and Colleagues o Adhere to company dress code and safety regulations o Understand and comply with company start up/escalation processes and procedures o Maintain proper and adequate level of internal communications to o Managers, co-workers, Support Services, electronic communications, etc. o Ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of the International Trade Compliance Regulation is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company ITC certification program itself.
