We have an ideal opportunity to gain some valuable experience in a professional services firm within a core support function in their Records department.

The role involves a high level of interaction with partners and staff around the firm. A smart appearance and ability to communicate appropriately is therefore essential. They are a high end professional law firm that has a corporate yet friendly atmosphere.

They are looking for bubbly and professional junior candidate to join them for 6 months!

JOB TITLE: Records Assistant

JOB TYPE: 6 month Fixed Term Contract

COMPANY TYPE: Law Firm

HOURS: 9:00am - 5:00pm

SALARY: £19,000 pro rata

LOCATION: Chancery Lane

Principal Responsibilities:

* Handling all file movement within the office, including basement

* Opening and distributing incoming post to Partners and Technical Assistants

* Triaging emails for the General Matters team

* Distributing prompt lists by email

* Scanning documents to INVU/DMS

* Locating, checking, listing and boxing pending files for sending for scanning

* Sorting and boxing closed files for sending to storage

* Preparing collection orders for scanning/storage company

* Miscellaneous administrative tasks within the Records department

Person Specification:

* Team player

* Diligent and thorough

* Ability to work on own initiative

* Good communication skills

* Ability to work to deadlines

* Smart appearance in keeping with professional environment

Key Skills & Qualifications:

* Ideally educated to A Level standard (would consider those with a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, to include English Language and Maths)

* Work experience in an office environment (ideal but not essential)

* Strong literacy and numeracy skills

* Basic level IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet)

* Familiarity with operation of office equipment (faxes, photocopiers, scanners) (ideal but not essential)
