Job Title: Development Engineer

Location: Dorset

Salary: On request

A terrific opportunity has arisen for a Development Engineer with our client who is a world class test systems solutions provider, delivering high quality, high performance and cost effective automated test equipment to and number of marketplaces including aerospace, defence rail and energy.

Main Tasks:

*Input into initial design structure
*Build & test development unit
*Generate parts lists, wiring schedules & source components
*Populate manufactured PCBs & test
*Inspection & test (including fault finding on hardware equipment)
*Design electrical / electronic elements and sub-assemblies of test systems
*Work within project time-scales and costs.
*Communicate with customers and colleagues to clarify requirements / meet specifications
*Produce & maintain accurate electrical drawing packages (including schematics, bill of materials and wiring schedules)
*Work closely with our manufacturing team to inform and answer queries during assembly / test stages

Key Attributes:

*Have a good understanding of manufacturing requirements (in terms of electrical production)
*Have the ability to work on a variety of projects
*The ability to anticipate problems and assess possible solutions
*Must be methodical & organised approach to working and producing documentation
*Working as part of a team
*A good team player
*Precise and accurate
*Able to understand electronic drawings
*Good fault finding skills

Experience & Qualifications:

An ideal candidate will have:

*Have a formal engineering qualification in electronic / electrical design
*Familiarity with analogue and digital interface circuits
*Design / drawing office experience including Autocad (or equivalent) an advantage
*Experience with National Instruments hardware/software an advantage
