The Role

This is an interesting and varied role working with a wide range of clients as part of the Tax, Trust and Estate team to provide quality legal advice to the firm's clients.

Given the nature of the role, you must be an exceptional communicator with the ability to work well with people at all levels. Some of your work will require you to communicate with tact and sensitivity in challenging circumstances, dealing with vulnerable or distressed clients and advising them of the best course of legal action or alternatives. Equally, you must be able to prioritise multiple deadlines to give the client the best experience possible, communicating with them in a timely and professional manner to keep them abreast of any developments.

You will work closely with our colleagues in Court of Protection as your role will involve drafting Court of Protection (COP) applications. Using your knowledge of running Deputyship/Attorneyship management files, you will prepare and register Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) documents on behalf of our clients. You will also handle financial transactions with regards to arranging payment of invoices and reconciling bank statements relating to these files.

We'd like you to have experience working in a comparable field. Ideally, you'll be used to running Deputy/Attroneyship management files with little supervision and have an understanding of welfare benefits. A knowledge of care funding, Local Authority limits/disregards and NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding would also be beneficial.

If you are client-focused and looking to develop your knowledge in a diverse role within a supportive team environment, we would love to hear from you.

The Benefits

In addition to your basic salary we have a competitive benefits package including pension, critical illness cover, health cash plan, death in service, discounted legal services, 25 days hols (this increases with length of service), discounted online shopping, discounted gym memberships and season ticket loans.

The background checks made will establish your eligibility to work in the UK, and criminal record check and financial checks with a credit reference agency will also be undertaken.

The employment screening process will fully comply with Data Protection and other applicable laws.
