Claims Handler Role Description

We are looking for an Assistant Claims Handler to join our Insurance team to assist with the running of a busy caseload. This will involve working with more than 50 insurers in relation to professional indemnity claims for surveyors, architects, engineers, accountants, solicitors, and other professionals. You will be dealing with advising on coverage and policy issues, third party property claims, and defending D&O and employment claims against charities, schools and trustees, and other alternative dispute resolution cases including mediation and adjudication. The ideal candidate will have prior claims handling experience or alternatively paralegal experience, preferably gained at a defendant insurance law firm or also within the insurance market, while prior qualifications such as the Lloyds Introductory Test or the LPC are also desirable.

Key Tasks
  • Manage interactions with the firm's clients, provide the needed support and redirect queries to the right individual or department
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle a constantly changing workload
  • The ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels
  • Have a good eye for detail, and ensure all documentation is accurate
