Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Dorset

Salary: On request

A terrific opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer with our client who is a world class test systems solutions provider, delivering high, quality high performance and cost effective automated test equipment to and number of marketplaces including aerospace, defence rail and energy.

Main Tasks:

*Technical involvement in projects as a senior mechanical design engineer
*Input into initial design planning
*Translate specifications into sub-assembly specification
*Part of design review team
*Develop mechanical design to agreed specification
*Work closely with manufacturing dept. to inform and answer queries during assembly / test stages
*Efficiently and accurately check drawings produced by colleagues
*General management & upkeep of drawings
*Generate technical files & translate customer requirements into specifications where required
*Integration of mechanical assembly into complete systems
*Assemble and test of mechanical design (including FAT and SAT)
*Provide technical support when necessary to resolve problems
*Liaising with customer for project requirements
*Contributing to mechanical project proposals
*Recording and managing mechanical project issues and escalating where necessary
*Ensure good business practice is achieved & Quality standards are met

Experience & Qualifications:

*Formal engineering qualification
*Experience of similar work
