Job Title: Administrator (Immigration Compliance)

Accountable to: Deputy Head of Admissions (Int)
Professionally accountable to: Head of Academic Registry

To assist primarily with the management and implementation of the Home Office's Points Based System (PBS) under Tier 4 (Students). The post holder will co-ordinate and manage a comprehensive administrative process across the college to monitor and adhere to the Home Office compliance obligations. The post holder will be a point of contact for internal College Immigration Compliance matters and work closely with college academic and administrative staff to ensure that effective and efficient attendance monitoring processes are in place, in line with University Academic Registry policy, guidance and procedures.

The post holderforms part of the College's Academic Registry team that incorporates all aspects of student administration, from the point of initial enquiry and application throughout a student's period of study until graduation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To be supportive of immigration compliance on key sponsor duties to maintain and ensure retention of the University's Tier 4 licence
  • To assist in ensuring that procedures are in place across the College and maintained in accordance with Home Office rules and the University Policies. This will involve acquiring and maintaining a detailed knowledge of these rules and policies as well as processes for updating them.
  • To assist with the establishment and management of processes for developing and reviewing systems, procedures and policies required in order to sustain and maintain the College's compliance with its sponsorship duties for students as agreed with the Deputy Head of Admissions (International) and the University PBS Management Group.
  • To provide advice, support and guidance to College staff on matters relating to compliance with the Sponsor Management requirements as part of the University's Sponsor Licence Agreement.
  • To provide basic information to students about compliance requirements and refer any students requiring immigration advice to the Student Advisers, including information on time limits for study.
  • To co-ordinate and implement the process for monitoring and reporting International student non-attendance and other monitoring requirements within the College, including enrolment, attendance checks, written correspondence with the students (where applicable), tutorials and assessment points, in liaison with the Course Team.
  • To support the issuing of the Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) certificates using the Home Office Sponsor Management System predominantly for continuing students.
  • To work in collaboration with the Deputy Head of Admissions (International) and the other Administrators (Immigration Compliance), in order to build a network for sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • To be the key point of contact at the college for immigration queries and issues during enrolment and liaise with senior colleagues where necessary
  • To track the progress and outcomes of Immigration Status Agreements and to take appropriate action.
  • To monitor student files and system data to ensure accuracy and follow up where necessary
  • To support and work in collaboration with the Assistant Head of Academic Registry (Assessment and Exam Boards) to help maintain an overview of student attainment in relation to exam boards and visa restrictions.
  • To track students' progress (including repeating, retaking and interrupting studies) in order for appropriate statutory reporting to take place.
  • To work in conjunction with the Deputy Head of Admissions (International) and the Assistant Head of Academic Registry (Data Quality and Student Records) as required in preparation for and during internal and external audits.
