Our client is a highly respected and well-known manufacturer in Banbury. They are looking to acquire the services of a proficient and highly communicative Buyer. Reporting into the Production Manager, you will be responsible for purchasing raw materials and co-packed products. Main responsibilities:
  • Purchase raw materials and co-packed products in a timely manner.
  • Develop and strengthen effective working partnerships with key suppliers using supplier performance report.
  • Placement of Bill of Materials PO's in line with MRP requirements and company policies.
  • Prevent excess stock and ensure all records are accurate.
  • Manage a 100% availability stock inventory against production and sales forecasts and pro-actively managing unanticipated issues.
  • Manage Raw Material and Packaging stock levels across the business. Identifying Obsolete, Excess and short dated stock.
  • Manage the inbound logistics of products, including overseeing the shipping documentation.
  • Issuing New Supplier Set Up Forms to suppliers and creating them on the MRP system.
  • Publish daily, weekly and monthly reports from MRP system - full stock report including expiry data, product shelf life, obsolete stock etc.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Purchasing and stock management experience is essential.
  • Experience of dealing with imported goods.
  • Previous experience within FMCG is essential with food industry being highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of domestic and overseas sourcing.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly numerate and commercially aware.
  • Good attention to detail.

Additional Information:
