Insureandgo are a Market Leading Travel Insurance Company based in Southend-on-Sea.

We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer to provide compliance advice and support to the business, in line with regulations (FCA rules, guidelines and principles) and the business requirements. The role holder will have day-to-day responsibility as a member of the compliance team for supporting the Compliance Manager and Compliance Officer across the Travel and Specialty risk divisions and may be required to take decisions autonomously. The role will also involve project work and will support and deputise for the Compliance Manager as required.

Key Deliverables:

Duties to include but are not limited to:
  • To support the business from a regulatory perspective.
  • To take the necessary action, and promptly, to address any regulatory/legal issues.
  • To positively promote compliance to all internal and external customers.
  • To identify issues, assess them, provide appropriate solutions and implement them, including embedding of procedures for compliance as may be required by FCA guidelines/regulations and the business.
  • To ensure awareness, communication and compliance to regulations, new regulations and any regulatory changes and requirements and ensure adherence to these.
  • To provide management and business areas with compliance, regulatory and procedural advise where necessary.
  • To resolve issues, and where issues that cannot immediately be solved to escalate and action as appropriate.
  • To undertake and participate in projects as may be required as part of your duties and responsibilities.
  • To ensure that all regulatory guidelines are adhered to
  • To ensure that you conduct your role in accordance with AFC policy (to act honestly and with integrity) and to report any suspected incidents of fraud and corruption.
  • To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures, including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, GDPR, Code of Conduct, Security, IT and Internal Control Financial Regulations.
  • To undertake any other duty or responsibility that may reasonably be allocated by the Compliance Manager, MAPFRE Asistencia, UK; Head of Legal and Compliance and the Company's Senior Management Team.

Experience/Technical Knowledge:
  • Previous experience in a similar role together previous experience of working in retail general insurance is essential.
  • Along with a strong technical knowledge and thorough knowledge and understanding of FCA rules and regulations, and the ability to extract relevant guidance and current regulatory issues.
  • Experience of ancillary intermediaries and the motor sector would be of value

Other significant Role Requirements:
  • Possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for resolving compliance issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning, multi-tasking and organisation skills in order to meet timescales.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, both written and oral.
  • Computer literate with experience of Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • To be able to work autonomously and as a team and take responsibility for a wide range of issues and projects.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of seniority, both internal & external.

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week; although some flexibility is required as the requirements/needs of the business change for example the ability to work under time pressure and at unsociable hours where necessary.
