Central Employment are thrilled to be working with a leading business in County Durham who are in the market for a new IT Manager. The business has been going from strength to strength, ideally I'm looking for someone with experience of broad-spectrum IT knowledge across installation, commission and upgrades of software/hardware, insight into virtualised environments and the ability to lead a small team to support this growing business. I'm looking for candidates that are still very "hands-on" with technical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor the support desk, responding to user requests and escalate any persistent issues to 3rd parties
  • Monitor and manage the IT systems ensuring continuous up-time for critical IT systems
  • Perform any preventative maintenance, backup routines and configuring systems to be robust against malware bad actors
  • Support and monitor the internal network, WAN & LAN connectivity ensuring they are fit for purpose and readily available
  • Analyse and suggest upgrades including full cost analysis for infrastructure, architecture and device management systems
  • Maintain a robust DR policy that is in-line with modern solutions ensuring quick turnaround and restoration of systems in DR situations
  • Design & document IT processes, procedures and standards to maintain good record keeping and best practice standards
  • Manage, coach and develop the IT team, providing support and professional development for the team
  • Delegation of project based work for planned maintenance, system upgrades in-line with company directives

Essential Requirements
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy management and Microsoft Exchange user administration
  • Previous team and systems management experience for 50 + user network
  • TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP understanding and management/troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot IT issues and proven experience resolving server issues on business critical systems
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of stakeholders within the business up to C level
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sharepoint systems
  • Proven experience and usage of virtualised systems VMware/Hper-v
  • Experience with cloud technology platforms
  • VPN configuration, management and implementation experience
