Job Description
The Senior CxP Engineer is a figure who is expected to have more experience and authority that engineers have and as a result they typically work on a number of different engineering tasks at the same time. They are also expected to be able to handle problems outside of their primary expertise which can include dealing with people issues or coordination between teams.

The Senior CxP Engineer will provide a level of team leadership working across multiple colleagues, product lines, technologies and platforms and will help support the CxP Manager with strategic planning, resourcing, data gathering and execution.

The successful candidate will also perform proactive monitoring and fixes, failure recovery and software/hardware updates. This is alongside proactively configuring monitors and optimising, maintaining and supporting customers consuming hybrid/private/public cloud infrastructure ensuring all services are running optimally and securely.

This role will require the successful candidate to work alongside CSM, RMC, SysOps, Delivery and DevOps teams within an ITIL environment. The role is predominately office based however, there may be some requirement for work to be carried out in labs or on site.

Responsibilities -
  • Support the wider team as an escalation point.
  • Support the CxP Manager with resourcing, planning and a certain level of leadership
  • Provide a high level of quality across multiple functions in the team including documentation and process
  • Writing reports and proposals
  • Giving presentations to customers and mentoring people both internally and externally
  • Supporting managers when negotiating with vendors and providers
  • Maintain solutions using continuous deployments
  • Work closely with customers and become a trusted advisor
  • Deliver continuous improvements for customers in hybrid and public cloud & IT environments
  • Become an extension of customer's IT team and deliver high levels of expertise to the customer
  • Work across operations boundaries and onboard PS solutions providing operational playbooks and documentation
  • Deliver specialist skills to the SysOps team and be a trusted advisor and problem owner.
  • Support analysis on Escalated Incidents
  • Provide technical input in meetings when required.
  • Excellent skills and knowledge about multiple technologies including Linus, Unix, Database, VMWare, Microsoft technologies, Public and Private Cloud and monitoring tools such as MCSA/MCSE.
  • Knowledge of Virtualisation products and cloud solutions such as VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure and O365
  • Excellent monitoring skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce documentation, procedures and playbooks.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex issues
  • Experience working within a large geo-diverse team.
