£60,000.00 - £65,000.00 p/a

About the role

Our clients Regional Sales Managers are consummate sales professionals who bring high levels of sales capability, industry experience and drive to succeed.

You will have experience and working knowledge in the temporary works sector; groundworks, structural support, formwork etc. You will know the industry well and will have worked with tier 1 and 2 customers within it, having a proven sales track record.

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will spend most of your time in the field, both building relationships and revenue from existing customers, or winning new key accounts.

To your customers, you'll be the person who helps to solve their engineering problems. Your conversations will be about identifying and understanding their engineering challenges so that we can recommend solutions. You will of course work closely with local Engineering and Operations teams to deliver these solutions and provide excellent customer service.

Your to-do list will include building a healthy pipeline, generating and exploring leads, completing design briefs, negotiating quotes, closing orders and account management.

You will provide the benefit of your experience and knowledge to coach and mentor sales managers.

You will be aligned to one of our depots regionally and will report directly to the Regional Sales Director with a dotted line to the depot General Manager.

In a nutshell, a successful Regional Sales Manager delivers the following:
  • Maintaining and developing existing significant customers, building revenues and profitability
  • Generates healthy sales pipeline, qualified opportunities and converts them
  • Providing coaching and mentoring for sales managers, increasing their capability and knowledge
  • Healthy revenue increases in their region from new customers and business won from competitors
  • Collaborating with other members of the team on national accounts which have a presence in the portfolio

About you

You will have:
  • A proven track record of account management and winning new business in construction / civil sector
  • Knowledge and experience of temporary works in the construction industry
  • A people-focused personality with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A hunger for targeting and winning customers who are currently loyal to our competitors
  • A strong commercial acumen and be proactive and self-motivated
  • The ability to absorb and understand technical information and translate that into customer interactions and design briefs
  • The ability to coach and mentor others
  • Tenacity and a will to win
  • A full driving licence, as this is a field-based role.
