Our Reading client is currently recruiting for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their team.

This would suit a new qualified solicitor to someone who is 1 year PQE.

Role and Responsibilities

To include but not limited to:

* Handling a range of Commercial Property matters, including:

* Sale, purchase and lease of all types of commercial and mixed-use premises including related lending agreements.

* Rent reviews, assignments, underleases

* Commercial Security

* Licences to assign, underlet and alter

* Option Agreements/conditional contracts/overage

* Site acquisitions and disposals

* 1954 Act issues

* To provide support to existing conveyancing fee earners and the relevant Partner and/or Head of Department including occasional support to the residential conveyancing team if needed

* To assist in the promotion, development and marketing of the Property & Commercial Department and cross referral of clients to other fee earners

* To achieve Fee Earning targets as set by the Partners

* To attend Firm meetings including monthly Fee Earners Meetings and Property & Commercial Department Meetings

* To comply with the Firm's Policies and Procedures and to adhere where relevant to standards set by the Conveyancing Quality Scheme

* To comply with the SRA handbook including SRA accounts rules when dealing with office & clients' money

* To maintain the image and integrity of the Firm at all times and to deal with clients in a courteous manner

* To attend and participate in the Firm's social, charitable and marketing activities as required

* To maximise the use of IT systems and to use these systems to provide a quality, cost effective and efficient service to clients

* To undertake learning and development, in accordance with the firm's policies and processes, for Continuing Competence (as defined by the SRA), or regulatory equivalent

* Ad-hoc tasks and projects as detailed by the Partners

Person Specification

Key skills to include:

* Personally efficient and well organised

* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, completing high volume of workloads on a daily basis

* Ability to prioritise effectively

* Ability to work as part of a team

* Computer literate and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications

* Good verbal communication and telephones skills

* Attention to detail

* Self-sufficient - ability to complete workloads independently using the case management system to maximise efficiency and limit use of support staff resources

Hours & Place of Work

* Full Time (possibly PT - 4 days x week)

* Based in Central Reading but may be required to visit and attend to clients/contacts primarily in Berkshire/South Oxfordshire
