Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts , as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Business Manager to join HSBC Technology.

The role of the IT Business Manager, reporting to the IT COO, is to be provide Business Management support to one or more Service Lines within the GBGF: building strong relationships with the Service Line Head and their management teams; planning, tracking, and re-forecasting direct costs, headcount, and customer charges; and supporting IT Planning, IT Cost Management and IT Transformation related activities.
. What you will be doing;

•Frequent interaction with GBGF IT Exco, IT COO, IT Transfomation and HOST Finance
•Understanding of the cost base for the Service Lines supported and the details behind the numbers, including identification of cost reduction opportunities
•Analysing and explaining variances to plan on direct costs, headcount and customer charges, ensuring re-forecasts are timely and accurate
•Supporting regular IT Cost Management cycles for hiring and external spend
•Supporting the planning and implementation of IT Transformation related change

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

•Strong stakeholder management
•Past working experience with GPDM is desirable but not essential
•A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
•A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will to support others to respond in a similar way
•Achieved targets and met expectations whilst supporting and encouraging others to do the same
•Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered.

The location for this role is Sheffield.
