IT Change Manager - Based Risley, Warrington - 12 months - £55p/h Ltd (Outside IR35)


The IT Change Manager is responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the ITSM process, owning and governing the standards that Information Services Organisation (ISO) and IT Service Provider(s) must adhere to when implementing changes to IT Services.

The IT Change Manager controls the implementation of IT changes into the company's production environments, to minimise the risk of adversely affecting the availability and performance of IT Services.

Essential & Desirable Skills


Reporting to the Service Transition Lead

Providing advice and guidance to all stakeholders

Proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders

Ensuring processes and interfaces are continually reviewed

Verifying compliance with defined processes and interfaces


At least 5 Years' experience of working within an ITSM function

Specialist/expert capabilities in ITIL processes, specifically Change Management

ITIL Practitioner certification required, ITIL Expert certification desirable

Experience of implementing and embedding new ITSM processes

Ability to understand Business drivers and impact of change over a complex IT estate

Effective and efficient workload management

Excellent planning and organisational skills

Highly developed influencing and negotiating skills

Highly developed communication skills, able to present to large groups and senior stakeholders

Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically

Operating the IT Change Management process from initiation through to implementationMaking the recommendation regarding the decision to deploy into production

Categorising and impact assessing Requests For Change

Validating and approving Change Records

Producing and managing the Forward Schedule of Change

Identifying and mitigating contention and conflicts

Preparing and chairing the Change Advisory Board meetings

Conducting reviews to assess the success or failure of changes

Identifying and addressing non compliance

Defining and measuring Key Performance Indicators against agreed baselines

Reporting on metrics and providing management information to ITSM Board

Defining and agreeing standard changes (models, templates)

Utilising and developing Service Management tools

Developing relationships and working collaboratively with IT stakeholders

Monitoring the performance of IT Service Provider(s) against contracted service levels

Supporting and interfacing with other ITIL processes

Contributing to Continuous Service Improvement

Contract Context & Challenges

This contract is required to support service improvement - rationalising and standardising existing processes and procedures, developing maturity in line with the target capability levels.
