DescriptionAs an AWS Cloud Engineer Level II, you will work closely with the Solutions Architecture team and the Onboarding Project Managers to take the lead on deploying Amazon Web Services for Rackspace's Managed Services customers.You will be responsible for gathering low level requirements from the customer and using AWS native and 3rd party tools to create deployment templates/modules, execute builds, perform quality checks of your peers, and manage your workload.Given the project nature of the engagements, most relationships with customers will be short-term in nature. The right candidate will have the ability to quickly build rapport and a professional working relationship with key members of the customer's team. As an experienced engineer you may also be aligned to large Mid-Market / Enterprise customers who have a strong pipeline for future deployments and would benefit from a more intimate knowledge of their operations and overarching business goals. Internally you will need to form long-term positive relationships with Pre-Sales Architectures, Sales Staff, Rackspace Support Engineers, Project Managers and other support staff.TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:Strong demonstrable experience and skills in the following areas are either mandatory or beneficial.RequiredStrong knowledge of AWS Products & Services including; Relational and NoSQL Databases, Caching, Object and Block Storage, Scaling, Load Balancing, CDNs, NetworkingMinimum of 5 years System Administration experience supporting Microsoft Windows or Linux (RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu), troubleshooting incidents and executing change requestsMinimum 3 years' experience working with Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure or GoogleDemonstrable experience of using Amazon's CloudFormation service & HashiCorp's TerraformDemonstrable experience of Cloud Infrastructure deployments tools (e.g. Sceptre from CloudReach)Demonstrable experience in Scripting and Programming, including Python and JSONGood understanding of following Detail Design Documents and setup Deployment Document.Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.Good understanding of managing environments via Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Good understanding of design of native Cloud applications, Cloud application design patterns and practicesAmazon Web Services Certified Professional Solutions Architect or DevOps EngineerExcellent Written and Verbal communication skillsExtensively worked with Version Control Systems CVS, SVN (Subversion), GIT.Proficient with container systems like Docker and container orchestration like EC2 Container Service, Kubernetes and EKS.DesirableExperience of working with/for Enterprise organisations using ITIL ITSM processesExperience of working within both Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologiesGood understanding of DevOps principles and technologies such as CI/CD pipelines, config management tools (AWS SSM, Puppet, Ansible), automation systems (Jenkins, CircleCI, Bamboo)Amazon Web Services Certified at multiple levelsKey AccountabilitiesCapture Low Level technical requirements for Amazon Web Services DeploymentsProvide best practice guidance and support to customersLead the deployment of Customer Amazon Web Services, including creation of Templates, Deployment and Quality ChecksReal Time management of your Build Pipeline and Tasks in Project Management tooling for your buildsLead post-deployment handover to BAU support team where requiredIdentify Opportunities for, and Collaborate with Improvement / Automation projectsCollaborate with teams globally to create / drive consistent standardsLead knowledge share activities for wider MPC teamMentor and develop junior staffContinue to remain an industry expert, taking ownership of your personal development planKey Performance IndicatorsCustomer satisfaction - NPSQuantity Indicators - Build pipeline managementQuality indicators - Peer review, customer feedbackSalary: CompetitivePost Date:10/07/2019Close Date: 09/08/2019
