Pontefract Plant are currently looking to recruit a Technical Systems Lead to join the UK&I Engineering Team. The purpose of the role is to manage and lead the plants technical team to ensure the safe and efficient running of all the plant's production equipment and building services. The position will provide the skills, knowledge and vision needed to achieve world class performance in safety and maintenance of the sites assets.

Major / Key Accountabilities
  • Owner of sites Process Reliability monitoring and improvements programme
  • Manages and lead Lean & Continuous improvement projects on site
  • Work with Process Engineering to develop the automation strategy and roadmap for the site
  • Develop the sites capex budget submissions
  • Leads plant specific small to medium size projects (up to $500K Capex value).
  • Supports engineering in Commissioning, Qualification and leads Verification phase of start-ups for big project
  • Drives Technology Transfer and Training (TT&T) is properly carried out and maintained post project start-up
  • Works with relevant departments to review and update standard operating procedures and standards documents by incorporating learnings and outcomes of projects
  • Manages all the plants facilities and utilities (energy, water, waste) and ensures all the sites buildings, equipment and facilities comply with all relevant legislation
  • Leads plant technical capability development by improvement of technical skills within maintenance and R&M operatives:
  • Owner the Maintenance budget:
  • Control spending and economic commitments in accordance with the budget allocated.
  • Master the execution of the purchasing orders of the materials and the services necessary for the functioning of the service, in agreement with the established purchasing procedures.
  • Manage the plant fixed asset inventory and depreciation.

Skills & Qualifications
  • HNC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline desirable
  • Minimum 3 Years Engineering or Lean Management Experience
  • Project Management / Risk Management
  • IT skills Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project
  • PLC or Computer programming knowledge is desirable
