We have an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team of staff in the IT department ideally based in Manchester however we are open to accepting UK wide candidates.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or similar field and/or equivalent related work experience of at least 5+ years
  • Microsoft Certified Professional qualifications (preferably MSCE alternatively MSCA/MTA/MCTIP)
  • High levels of knowledge in server technologies and experience working within an IT technical systems role.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the following:
  • Active Directory Services/Federation Services
  • Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 and 2016 operating systems
  • Server hardware (Dell, HP)
  • SAN & storage solutions and architecture
  • Virtualisation technologies (VMWare, RDS, Citrix)
  • TCP/IP, LAN/WAN & Windows networking (DNS, DHCP)
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Administration and Security
  • Outlook/Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Teams
  • Cloud infrastructure services (Microsoft Azure/AWS)
  • Backup solutions and systems
  • Asset and patch management systems
  • Server monitoring and performance
  • Scripting and task automation ideally in PowerShell
  • Capacity planning

Duties of this role include:
  • The responsibility of the Senior IT Systems Engineer role is to assist in the delivery of excellent, cost effective IT server & system services across all BMI Healthcare locations nationwide across both the clinical and corporate functions. Engage with 3rd party providers, contracted resources and managed service partners ensuring the operational stability, availability and security of the IT server & system services on a day to day basis.
  • The role requires a working knowledge of a broad set of server & systems technologies including (but not limited to) Windows Server, Active Directory, Office365, storage technologies, cloud services (public and private), server hardware & infrastructure, virtualisation, data centres, back-up and network technologies.
  • The ideal candidate will be strongly motivated to deliver and promote the highest levels of service for all customers, internal and external and have some sense of industry trends and emerging technologies, seeking opportunities to further improve employee productivity and satisfaction.
