Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Technology Supplier Management Manager to join HSBC Technology.

This GCB4 Technology Supplier Management Manager is a new role within Telecommunications and the successful candidate will work across the multiple Telecoms domains, where they will be responsible for owning and managing the complex commercial relationships with the top suppliers of Telecoms services.

In this role you will:
  • Work closely with internal and and external stakeholders to define and execute the best vendor strategy for Telecommuncations' largest vendors.
  • Play a pivotal role managing, on a global basis, large high-growth contracts that will allow HSBC to maximise cost efficiencies and manage the commercial obligations between HSBC and the vendor leading to maximized revenue and margins and mitigated risks.
  • Deal with external and internal stakeholders confidently and work closely with our technology pillars to understand our requirements of the contracts and performance of vendors.
  • Ensure Telecoms and the vendor delivers against their own contractual commitments; orchestrating internal and external suppliers to successfully deliver & maintain the contracted scope.
  • Utilise business stakeholder management techniques to define product roadmaps and market available capabilities to ensure contracts remain relevant and competitive with the market.
  • Continuously review the contracts and performance levels to ensure all Service Quality targets are met for offered products and services and vendors are held accountable.
  • Have contract and revenue targets which fit into the wider overall P+L and the candidate will be responsible for driving profibitability through deal discovery, baselining existing cost/service structure in order to understand the true value and breadth of Telco's requirements vendor.


Qualifications
What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector and the following skills:

  • Experience in commercial delivery of contracts, preferably in Telecoms.
  • Experience of managing large/complex and high value contracts (+$50million)
  • Experience of leading a large team
  • Experience of project planning and delivery using agile methodology
  • Proven track record of virtual team leadership & delivery of complex requirements through range of internal and external suppliers and partners.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise service delivery within a diverse and constantly changing technical environment.
  • Excellent relationship builder, with the necessary personal impact to build credibility with customers, the account team and Sales Leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to Executive-level.
  • Ability to identify broken/sub-optimal processes and recommend changes.
  • Strong coaching skills and demonstrable ability to deliver through non 'Direct Reports'

The location for this role can be either Sheffield or London.
