Your new company
You will be working for a well established business that imports goods from around the world. They supply a mixture of wholesale customers with larger bulk orders as well as smaller orders directly via various sales channels. The business has a great culture (some employees have worked for the business for over 20 years). Although they are established and have some good retention they are a forward thinking business and although they have some systems and processes that have worked for years and years, they are constantly moving with the times and looking at new systems, new sales channels, new ways of selling their products to ensure they do not stagnate in their market.

Your new role
You will be the Credit Manager essentially the head of Credit and Accounts Receivables for the business and you will be reporting into the Head of Finance. You will be tasked with ensuring the tight control of the Credit function especially as the business is changing and they are exploring new markets and moving from trading internationally to trading Globally as their business expands. This is a hands-on position and you will have some support from 1 team member. Your duties will include:
  • Full responsibility for all credit and collection processes - maximise sales opportunities whilst identifying and managing risk
  • Produce and present KPI reporting for regular credit meetings and Board packs
  • Review processes and work with IT / Services teams to increase efficiency, streamline and automate where possible
  • Credit card fraud / charge backs management
  • Report on monthly volumes, losses and card charges
  • Work with Payment Service Providers to reduce losses, better manage risk and streamline processes
  • Credit account customer management
  • Set and manage credit policy
  • Report on credit risk - total amounts due / gross exposure and overdue
  • Develop international credit checking and debt collection processes

What you'll need to succeed
You must have experience from within a Credit Management role. It would be desirable but is not essential if you are CICM qualified and have some experience of working within an industry such as distribution, retail, wholesale, FMCG or a company that trades products internationally.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £32-37K dependant on experience, holiday, benefits, free parking.
