Job Summary:

We are looking for a Project Engineer (with automation and control).

·Ideal candidates will be experienced in a related industry.

·Be a graduate with an eagerness to work in industrial automation control systems.

·If you have fire engineer experience this will help us convert to fire and gas engineering.

·We are also to open to applications from general petro-chem, oil & gas and the automotive industries.

Purpose of Function

As a key member of the commercial team, the primary focus of the role is the project delivery for the engineered solution to the customer that will enable our client to deliver projects to a world class standard.

Tasks and Responsibilities

·All employees have a responsibility to comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties.

·Ensure all relevant technical standards and specifications are adhered to for full technical compliance without supervision outside of departmental guidelines.

·Responsible for ensuring high levels of engineering quality throughout the project/manufacturing processes.

·Demonstrate technical competence and expertise and any associated 3rd party equipment working with control systems and sampling systems

·Part of a team of multi-discipline personnel, inputting a wide experience of fire and gas detection knowledge

·Responsible for the technical specification and timely implementation of engineered solutions

·Produce technical design sketches and drawings for manufacturing of bespoke system

·Provide technical support as required to sales and service teams

·Attend regular production meetings and manage manufacturing/ purchasing teams to ensure system manufacturing is successful

·Attend Project Kick off meetings if requested by Project Management to manage customer expectations

·Attend internal project reviews ensuring full technical compliance for engineering and export compliance

·Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (with clients if required)

·Continuous communication with Project Managers, Manufacturing and Purchasing

·Create accurate bills of materials and costing sheets ensuring budget is managed for sales and projects.

·Ensure all time is logged against relevant project.

·Manage manufacturing team for system builds on projects

·Fault finding and testing of products and manufactured systems to component level

·Conducting customer site surveys both onshore and offshore

·Problem solving and lessons learned

·Ensure locally targeted strategic market / product launches for UK & MEAI comply with relative local industry standards

·Effective use of CRM through the use of opportunities, tasks and other entities to understand the project status and ensure full transparency

·The tasks and responsibilities above are typical of the duties the postholder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time.

Additional Roles

·Provide installation or commissioning support on all projects

·Provide front end sales and quotation support if required

·Provide marketing support if required

·Provide aftersales technical support for all projects

·Reporting Relationships

·Functionally reports to:Engineering Manager

·Administratively reports to: Engineering Manager

Position Requirements

·Completion of an Instrumentation, Electrical or similar modern apprenticeship

·Bachelor's degree or HNC/HND in Instrumentation, Electrical or similar

·Related Experience relative experience in gas detection systems

·Extensive experience in related industries

·Skills, Special Competencies, or CertificationsIT knowledge

·Customer orientation

·Ability to organise and prioritise

·Ability to work within a team


·Capability of assessment to make appropriate decisions

·Problem Solving

·Instrumentation & Control Engineer knowledge
