Reed Finance is currently exclusively working with a manufacturing business based in Birmingham who are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team due to a significant period of growth.

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide Management Accounting Services specifically to the Aftermarket division of the business with focus on the UK and including comparison with the overseas Aftermarket sites including performance consolidation thereof to give a group perspective.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Costing & Margin Analysis:

• Produce cost analysis of the Aftermarket business, reviewing and (where appropriate) updating cost standards on a periodic basis.

• Prepare & support the commercial organisation with profit margin analysis.

• Work with colleagues to develop "variance to standard" reporting.

• Work with the Financial Reporting Accountant to deliver appropriate monthly & annual reporting of the Aftermarket Services organisation.

• Work with the Management Accountant from another area of the business to review and, if necessary, amend the overhead recovery rates to establish a fair allocation between New & old goods, thus improving comparability with the overseas retread facilities.

Stock valuation & management:

• Ensure that aftermarket inventory is appropriately controlled & valued, coordinating with your counterpart as necessary.

• Work with the commercial organisation & other colleagues to ensure stock is properly managed.

• Ensure that the return & processing of goods is properly controlled and administered on a timely basis.

• Customer recoveries are sought and coordinated as necessary.

CPAL contracts & pool management:

• Work with the commercial organisation to support optimisation of managing long term agreements.

• Work with the wider team to ensure CPAL assets are appropriately valued and that the mix of New & old goods is optimised.

• Provide any necessary financial support on any new RFQ's / tender processes.

• Provide financial support to the periodic pool audit process.

Other key areas:

• Provide assistance & support to the Budget & Forecasting processes to the business.

• Provide finance support to retread capacity planning both in terms of capital equipment, facilities utilisation and labour.

• Wastage & scrap reporting

• Work with other members of the Finance team where certain services overlap and where information sharing & coordinated working is required.

PRINCIPAL MEASURABLES:

• Timeliness and data accuracy of reporting.

• Reporting is understood and supported by appropriate explanation.

• Commercial opportunities relating to Long Term Agreements are identified & utilised.

CANDIDATE SKILLS:

• Role is part of a flat UK finance structure reporting direct to the FD.

• CIMA qualified (or demonstrated skills / experience to an equivalent standard).

• Ability to communicate well across functions and at all levels of the organisation.

• Salary level up to c.£40k (dependent upon qualifications & experience)
