Internal Controls Manager

Venn Group are currently recruiting for an Internal Controls Manager position at large London based Private Sector organisation. This is an interim role and is paying between £500 and £550 per day, commensurate with experience.
  • Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of controls intended to ensure the safeguarding of assets and reducing or recovering costs.
  • Propose recommendations to reduce risk based upon observed and confirmed control weaknesses and follows up on management responses to audit findings.
  • Tests and evaluates internal control effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with CCF external and internal audit to assure effective completion of audit requests.
  • Alignment and collaboration with CCF legal team where applicable
  • Provides leadership to business process owners regarding implementation/monitoring an effective internal control system. Activities include reviewing existing controls, providing guidance in design of new controls and remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Provides leadership in process improvement projects.
  • Conducts effective internal control meetings and maintains on-going communication on status of projects with management.
  • Assists with departmental initiatives.
  • Maintains on-going communication on status of recommendations with management.
  • Complies with US standards and knowledge of other areas applicable to a US entity operating in London


The successful candidate should have:

  • Top 20 Accounting firm background preferred but not required
  • Healthcare experience preferred, but not essential
  • Demonstrable track record over multiple roles, or equivalent progression in professional and functionally-relevant work experience is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of auditing standards, analytical techniques and internal controls
  • Exposure to UK and US accounting principle is preferred
  • UK and US compliance exposure strongly preferred - eg: SOX, FCPA, Bribery Act and knowledge of other areas applicable to a US entity operating in London
  • Experience of auditing within international organisations is a distinct advantage
  • Experience of setting up audit controls and structures is advantageous
