We are seeking a press officer to nurture a strong industry network, increase awareness and develop a corporate image by developing, and executing effective communication and media relations. You will help to develop and deliver on creative campaign ideas that demonstrate expertise and creativity. Media relations is a key focus of this role and you will identify story angles and develop creative narratives that generate high quality, on brand coverage. You will be involved supporting events and be responsible for managing the press demonstrator fleet on an operational level.

  • Co-ordinate media relations activities
  • Assist in implementing a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
  • Direct social media team to engage audiences with PR content
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Manage press fleet bookings for journalists whilst monitoring/ controlling budget
  • Create content for press releases, press kits, presentations and social media channels
  • Manage Media Twitter feed
  • Manage media enquiries and interview requests
  • Monitor media coverage daily
  • Maintain SsangYong media website and ensure content is relevant/ current
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, and sponsorships on an on-going basis
  • Assist in building relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them

Work experience requirements
  • Proven working experience in automotive PR
  • Strong relationships with both regional and national automotive media
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful media relations campaigns at both a local and national level
  • Event planning experience
  • Excellent media relations skills with a proven track record in generating high quality coverage
  • Occasional nights away will be required

Education requirements
  • Media qualification preferred
  • Educated to degree level preferred
