Junior Legal Counsel

Salary £ Market/ Competitive

This is a full time permanent position responsible for supporting and providing advice on a range of legal issues affecting a fast growing, medium sized, entrepreneurial pharmaceutical business, with the main focus on commercial agreements.

The Junior Legal Counsel will report directly into the Head of Commercial Legal and will also work directly with the General Counsel. The role will involve providing first line support to internal teams from across the Atnahs group of companies with regular exposure to senior stakeholders within the business.

The role:
  • Negotiating, drafting and supporting on a broad range of commercial contracts, including distribution, logistics and licensing, general service, regulatory and supply chain agreements
  • Amendments to existing legal contacts.
  • Drafting and advising internal stakeholders on the content of confidentiality agreements and granting powers of attorney to external agents.
  • Supporting on high value multi-national M&A transactions.
  • Supporting with the management of an extensive global trademark portfolio.
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to the wider business on ad hoc legal issues and support on business projects.
  • Assist with the maintenance of a centralised legal contracts database.

What we are looking for:
  • A UK qualified lawyer or similar commonwealth jurisdiction with at least one year PQE.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Commercial contracts experience.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • To have worked on/supported more senior legal advisers on complex commercial matters.
  • Robust drafting capability & high attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strategic with excellent research skills.
  • Ideally some knowledge of trademark law, trade law and sanctions.
