A business in the UK who supplies to the process industry, started in small premises 8 years ago and have now tripled their workforce and moved to larger premises in Nottingham. Due to further expansion they now have a new opportunity for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join the business.

This position would suit a Commissioning Engineer from the Process, Oil & Gas, Water, Waste Water or Marine industries. Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK. The role will be based working from home and off-shore. Off-shore experience is essential for this opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the electrical engineering representative for onsite and interface with suppliers, the customer and vessel personnel, yard and installation sub-contractors and class representatives during the site works.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the Projects Manager in the development, compilation and control of installation and commission related documents for all of the projects undertaken by the company
  • Responsible for the successful site installation and commission of systems and equipment, ensuring that deadlines are met and all relevant requirements, legislation, class rules and budgets are adhered to. You will also be responsible for ensuring all site works are compliant with designs and for controlling and compiling site works documentation
  • Support the company in the development and documentation of the company commissioning processes.

Requirements:
  • Multi-skilled background with electrical engineering bias
  • Experience of commissioning Motors, Compressors, Blowers, Pumps, Actuated Valves, Piping, and associated instrumentation.
  • Review and understand Process and Instrumentation Drawings, and Electrical Schematics & Mechanical Manufacturing Drawings
  • Ability to plan and manage the commissioning activities and effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment with shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Problem solving with good communication and negotiations skills to implement solutions
  • Electrical, Control & Instrumentation and Mechanical Equipment knowledge
  • Candidates with a seaman's card will have a distinct advantage

  • Salary range from £45k to £50k
  • Additional daily allowance of £140 for every day worked off shore
  • Time back in lieu for any weekends worked
