Morgan McKinley are currently working with a well-established and rapidly expanding finance team East of Yeovil to recruit for a Finance Assistant.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all finance functions and accounting records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner, undertaking all prime entry bookkeeping tasks ensuring all income and costs have been appropriately approved, recorded accurately and VAT where applicable is correctly treated. You will be creating all payments runs whether weekly or adhoc, assisting with the preparation of CIS and VAT returns ensuring these are submitted on time and preparing regular reconciliations not limited to weekly bank reconciliations, monthly income reconciliations, actual v budget costs summaries as an example. Other duties such as Credit Control, maintaining the fixed asset registers and preparing management accounts will also come under your duties.

In order to be successful in this role you must be AAT Qualified/QBE with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Experience of VAT and knowledge of CIS would be an advantage. You must be able to prioritise your workload, be able to work in a high volume environment and have good communication skills. You must have excellent IT skills and be competent on Excel (V Lookup/Pivot Tables).
