Operational Reporting

Our PLC Client produces a wide range of internal reporting to assist the operational teams in optimising their business and to highlight areas that require attention. This reporting covers working capital, departmental profitability, divisional and inter-franchise comparisons, and KPI monitoring. They are currently in the process of leveraging new technologies to improve the speed, quality and accuracy of these reports. You will also be getting involved with changing their existing reports to provide new insights to senior management.

Your responsibilities here initially will be to produce the regular weekly and monthly reporting, develop an understanding of the data structures and processes behind them, and identify and investigate any issues or answer management queries on an ongoing basis.

You will also be responsible for collating various returns from Dealership Financial Controllers, ensuring all are submitted in line with Group policy and checked for accuracy where required.

There are also frequent requests from the Operational Board and other Senior Managers for ad-hoc analysis, which you may become involved.

Statutory Reporting

Your role here will be to support the Group Financial Controller in meeting the various reporting deadlines to HMRC and public bodies including the ONS, OFT etc, as well as undertaking ad-hoc tasks including bank liaison and payment authorisation.

The year-end audit will present many opportunities to add value.
