The successful candidate will manage the execution of Trade Compliance activities in Europe across all franchises, and provide input into the further development of Trade Compliance Policies and Procedures. The purpose is to ensure full compliance with Customs and World Trade requirements as well as Smith & Nephew Trade Compliance internal policies & procedures on an ongoing basis.Essential Job FunctionsPerform day-to-day trade compliance activities providing technical & analytical support for customs & trade compliance matters, customs regulations & trade lawsApplies working knowledge of import/export regulations & requirements to support business needs.Work proactively and provide guidance to internal departments to ensure international business activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations.Extensive knowledge of Customs classifications/Harmonized Tariff System, Incoterms and trade terms.Consolidate & analyze import/export data to identify risks or opportunities for savings.Work upstream with supply chain planning teams on customs compliance matters.Quickly escalate issues and resolve complex problems.Effective collaboration and solid communication with internal and external parties.Continuous process improvement mindset: identify gaps in current processes and procedures. Provide recommendations to improve operational processes.Responds to customer's requests in a timely and professional manner.
