Our client is looking for a Senior Fleet Underwriter to join their team in West Malling.

As a Senior Fleet Underwriter you will be responsible for the following:

·You will be the lead underwriter for a key partner broker and responsible for proactive and profitable management of their account through quality risk selection and achievement of monthly set targets.

·You will visit the broker on a weekly basis to support the handling of their new business and renewal enquiries and manage the trading relationship day to day.You will also support review meetings and social events when required.

·Profitably underwrite, on a case-by-case basis, bespoke fleet SME risks within our clients underwriting criteria.

·Underwrite within our clients strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.

·Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues.

·Maintain and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.

·To prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets optimising sales and retention.

·Maintain an accurate audit trail using our clients systems, practices and procedures.

·Maintain an up to date knowledge of:

oThe commercial lines market

oThe broking marketplace

oLegislation and litigation which could affect the writing of business

·Provide technical assistance and guidance to junior team members on underwriting matters and soft skills.

·Participate in, and undertake any ad-hoc tasks, that may be requested to ensure the smooth running of the National Underwriting Centre and commercial business.

·To work with the New Business Manager/SME Operations Manager to continually develop ideas in order to increase team productivity, efficiency and profitability.

·Make sure that you treat all our customers with the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

·Understand how you play a part in the Customer Experience

·Provide a service to all of our customers (internal and external) that is memorable for the right reasons and builds our reputation as a great company to work for and do business with

·To contribute to the profitable development of the National Underwriting Centre business, by case underwriting new and existing business risks and actively managing quotations, renewals & MTAs including:
  • Developing and supporting Covea's commercial lines account by engaging and encouraging new and existing relationships with national brokers.
  • Ensuring Covea's technical underwriting rates and criteria are accurately applied to all risks.
  • Contributing towards the achievement of Covea's annual financial plan

·Proven experience in underwriting Fleet Insurance is required - minimum 3 years - 5 years.

·Proven relationship management

·The ability to demonstrate meeting & exceeding personal and team objectives

·Experience in delivering training and/or coaching

·An awareness of the market and legal/industry development

·Minimum Dip CII.ACII or progress towards, is preferred.
  • Experience in Motor Trade, Commercial Combined and Property Owners desirable.
  • Experience of working within an e-trade environment.
