This highly successful Property Management company based in central London is looking for additional support during a busy period and is seeking an experienced Service Charge Accountant for a period of two months.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working alongside the Service Charge Accountant you will be providing additional assistance whilst the business is focused on several large projects.

Key Tasks
  • Production of annual service charge statements, ensuring that the results are accurate, timely and correctly reflect the prevailing accounting standards and RICS code of practice.
  • Prepare service charge quarterly variance analysis, highlighting the reasons behind all material variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Work with the business to prepare the quarterly service charge re-forecast and annual budget ensuring that each a detailed review is conducted and that the forecast/budget accurately reflects the operational plans of the business.
  • Develop relationships with the key stakeholders both external and internal to improve communication and ensure accuracy, relevance and timeliness of service charge statements.
  • Service charge balance sheet reconciliations - monitoring balances to ensure that charges are appropriately recharged to tenants or taken to the business income statements on a timely basis, ensuring that the annual tenant reconciliation exercise clears down all balances.
  • Maintenance of tenant ledger account
  • Ensure tenant receipts are correctly accepted and fully and accurately allocated in a timely manner.
  • Collection of tenant turnover information and preparation of internal tenant turnover reporting.
  • Maintenance of residential deposit scheme schedules and deposit interest calculations.
  • Completion statements for incoming and outgoing tenants.

Prior exposure to Service Charge Accounting, a background in Investment Property and advanced MS Excel skills are essential. Previous use of Agresso and Horizon would be highly advantageous.

You should be used to working in results-orientated and performance driven environment with a focus in excellence, and possess good planning skills, whilst demonstrating a diligent and reliable nature.
