A leading specialist manufacturing client in central Somerset is eagerly recruiting for an experienced Product Engineer to join their Product, Engineering and Technology team on a full time basis.

The ideal candidate will have a very strong 3D design, modelling and 2D drawing creation background, with experience working with conceptual design, prototyping, mechanical piece part drawings and assembly drawings to BS8888 and ISO10110 standard.

Experience working within medium volume manufacturing would be highly advantageous - either in the Aerospace, Defence, Industrial or Life Science sector. You'll also ideally be a confident customer facing Engineer, able to transfer and communicate complex and long term plans into a viable, costed and efficient production WIP.

As Product Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Supporting development of product and supporting the senior engineering team producing high quality, cost effective product design to high spec, meeting all legislative requirements and customer need,
  • Employing sound engineering knowledge and capabilities to devise innovative manufacturing solutions,
  • Maintaining routings, and being responsible for delivery of product on time, supporting key engineer and director level staff in achieving business targets,
  • Supporting purchasing, and investigating new equipment and processes to further support customer requirements, considering business growth and best practice,
  • Presenting project risks and solutions within RFQ/RFP life cycle, allowed ample response time,
  • Supporting design reviews,
  • Collaborating with Value Stream teams and optimizing product, matching site capabilities,
  • Developing and building on key internal networks, customers and third party service providers,
  • Train and support business in understanding product ranges and application,
  • To create and maintain templates, configuration and methodology across the global business.

This is a full time role and as such you'll be expected to provide a driven and passionate engineering mind to the role. Your salary will be £45,000pa, with a generous benefits package to be discussed at interview stage.
