Due to the award of new contracts and continued organic growth, Amore Care Group has an exciting opportunity for a driven Finance Assistant to join its Chester office team. To support the Group Financial Controller in recording, retrieving and reporting the financial transactions of the Company.

Role of the Finance Department:

Provides a complete finance service to the whole of the company, addressing all issues of a finance nature and providing all relevant information to meet external demands. These services may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: budget setting, reporting and control, income and debt management, financial reporting to external bodies, annual accounts preparation.

Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Complete tasks for the payment of contractors verifying timesheets to Webroster system.
  • Assist with the generation of payroll to gross pay for use by the payroll providers.
  • Input and monitoring of information into external sales invoice payment systems.
  • Input accounting data into the accounting systems (Sage and Webroster) with speed and accuracy.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller by inputting into Sage sales and purchase ledgers from source documents.
  • Matching purchase invoices to statements and purchase orders to invoices.
  • Preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required.
  • Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company's financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Resolution of finance related queries.
  • Provide financial support to Amore Care departments and team members.
  • Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience of working within a finance department
  • Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures
  • Good level of competence in Excel, Word and Outlook and Sage accounting software
  • Good keyboard skills
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Good organisational skills used in planning own work
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work with high volume workloads under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
  • Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities
  • Able to work effectively with minimal management guidance/supervision
  • Willingness to accept responsibility
  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Working towards a recognised finance qualification
  • Experience of working in an agency-based organisation.
