Aim of the Role:
1. Support and maintenance of the network infrastructure and Data Comm's Rooms;
2. Network capacity, monitoring and reporting;
3. Adhering to the ICT Infrastructure standards, policies and procedures;
4. Support and maintenance of security within the network infrastructure;
5. Implement approved changes;
6. Schedule and carry-out routine maintenance tasks;
7. Update network infrastructure documents;
8. On-call support.

Key Result Areas:
• Administration, maintenance and support of the Data Comm's Rooms and network capacity planning, usage monitoring and reporting;
• Assistance on development and maintenance of network infrastructure standards, policies and procedures;
• Administration, maintenance and support of the network infrastructure;
• Network contingency and availability.

Network Infrastructure (Wired and Wireless), Data Centre and Server Rooms:
• Provide support and maintenance on the management, design, implementation and review of the network infrastructure, including Data Centres / Server Rooms. Ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and comply with ICHT standards and procedures;
• Assist with the security of the network infrastructure, ensuring that all network devices are maintained with the latest approved versions, patches and is monitored and reviewed for any anomalies/faults;
• Assist the Network Manager for Data Comm's Rooms and network capacity planning, usage monitoring and reporting;
• Assist with ICHT network infrastructure security;
• Assist with configuration, Security, upgrades and performance of ICHT Networks;
• Organise and report faulty equipment to maintenance companies;
• Ensure network diagrams, inventories and associated spreadsheet and databases/documents are kept up-to-date;
• Perform regular network audits and surveys. Analysis and recommendations for upgrades;
• Provide 3rd-line support for the ICHT network infrastructure and taking ownership of issues through to resolution and meeting specified SLAs (Service Level Agreements);
• Carry-out prompt escalation of possible faults or problems to Network Manager or other appropriate ICT management;
• Responsible to identify and escalate to the Network Manager on any ICT risks. Initiate risk assessment, develop and implement solution where necessary in accordance with the change control process;
• Participate in the ICT On-Call rota for out-of-hours support.

Education Desirable:
• IT related Degree;
• PRINCE II Foundation;
• Network Certification CCNA.

Experience Desirable:
Understanding of NHS Operational and Strategic;
Knowledge of legislation;
